Brenda McCoy Appointed Interim MEAC Commissioner

Greensboro, NC - Brenda McCoy has been named Interim Commissioner of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, effective immediately. The appointment was announced by William DeLauder, President of Delaware State University and chair of the Council of MEAC Chief Executive Officers.

DeLauder said McCoy will hold the position while the conference conducts a national search for a successor to Charles Harris. On April 12, Harris announced his resignation after a five-year tenure. A longtime member of the MEAC staff, McCoy has most recently been serving as Assistant to the Commissioner and Director of Championships.

"We are confident Brenda will do an excellent job," DeLauder said. "We appreciate her willingness to serve in this capacity while we seek to find our new commissioner."

DeLauder said the conference hopes to name its new commissioner this summer.
