Coppin State Coach's Wife Passes

BALTIMORE-Yvonne Mitchell, wife of Coppin State athletics director and men's basketball coach Ron "Fang" Mitchell, passed away early this (Thursday) morning after being hospitalized Wednesday night for chest pains.

Doctors determined that she suffered an aneurysm of the aorta, which eventually led to heart failure. Mitchell, 56, passed away shortly after midnight.

The funeral will be held on Monday, January 14 in Deptford, N.J.

As a result, the Eagles' home game against Maryland Eastern Shore, scheduled the same day, has been postponed to a date to be determined.
