Hill Named MEAC Coordinator of Baseball Officials

Greensboro, NC - MEAC Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas has announced that
Adonis
Hill has been appointed Coordinator of Baseball Officials. “We are pleased
that Mr. Hill will be our Supervisor of Baseball Officials. He brings a
wealth of experience and expertise to our conference. I am confident Mr.
Hill will be a tremendous asset,” stated Thomas.
The Newberry, South Carolina native is bringing a wealth of talent and
experience with collegiate and professional baseball umpiring background.
He began his umpiring career in 1990 on the high school level in Newberry
and in 1993 he started on the collegiate level with the Sun Belt Collegiate
Association.
In 1996 he moved up to the professional ranks and attended the Jim Evans
Academy of Professional Umpires in Kissimmee, Florida. In his first season
he worked Single A Rookie League (Gulf Coast League) and from there he
worked the Single A South Atlantic League and the Advance Single A (Carolina
League) and moved up to the Double A Southern League. While with the
Carolina League, he was selected to work the All-Star Game and the
Championship Series in 1999. He also worked the Southern League 2001
All-Star Game and Championship Series.
Since 1996 he has been employed as a senior instructor for the Jim Evans
Academy. In addition to the Academy, he has worked various amateur clinics
throughout the country.
Adonis attended Georgia Southern University (1990-92) and Lander University
(92-94) and was a member of the basketball teams.
