Lincoln Drops Interim off Head Football Coach Title

Jefferson City, MO - Lincoln University President Dr. David B.
Henson and Director of Athletics Patric Simon have announced the hiring of Fred
Manuel as Head Football Coach.
"Mr. Manual exemplifies class and
charismatic style and he is what Lincoln was looking for," said Simon. "We look forward to the future of a successful football program
under Fred Manuel."
Before taking over as Interim Head Football Coach, Fred Manuel, as the
Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator steered his defense to the
12th best in the country in the NAIA in 2000. And 2001 season making the
jump back to NCAA Division II, the defense posted the 12th best Pass
Efficiency Defense and was 30th overall in Total Defense. His coaching
career includes stops at Temple University, Marshall University, Memphis
State University, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, University of
Idaho, Air Force Academy, Cornell University and Brown University.
As Interim Head Coach last season, Coach Manuel guided the Blue Tigers to
the 31st best rushing offense in the nation, while his defense ranked 30th
in pass efficiency in his first year as Head Coach. Coach Manuel and the
Blue Tigers are preparing for Spring Football this April and expect big
things from the years to come.
