Savannah State University opens the 2003 football season on August 30th in Jacksonville, Florida facing the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman College in the 50th Gateway Classic.
The Tigers then travel to Statesboro, Georgia to meet the Eagles of Georgia Southern University on September 6th.
September 13th is the home opener as the Tigers host the Norfolk State University Spartans in the 10th Annual Joseph Turner Football Classic in Theodore A. Wright Stadium.
On September 20th, SSU is on the road again to meet the Bulldogs of South Carolina State University in Charleston, South Carolina.
In a first ever meeting, the Bisons of Howard University visit Savannah on September 27th. On October 4th, SSU return to Macon, Georgia to battle the Golden Rams of Albany State University in the 6th Music City Classic. October 11th is an open date, but action returns on October 18th with Alabama A&M University in the 11th CSRA Classic in Augusta, Georgia.
The next three weeks find the Tigers at home. They host Coastal Carolina University on October 25th, Morgan State University on November 1st, and celebrate Homecoming 2003 on November 8th against Edward Waters College.
Travel resumes for the final two weeks of the season as the Tigers invade Grambling, Louisiana on November 15th to take on the Tigers of Grambling State University and travel to Hampton, Virginia to meet the Hampton University Pirates on November 22nd.
