Tickets Go On Sale for Palmetto Capital City Classic

Columbia, SC -- Tickets are now available for the inaugural Palmetto Capital City Classic to be held September 7, 2002 in Columbia, South Carolina. The Palmetto Capital City Classic will feature the Benedict Tigers versus the South Carolina State Bulldogs at Williams-Brice Stadium. The football game will kick-off at 6 p.m.. Pre-game activities around the stadium will include tailgating, a free R&B concert, a bazaar and a marching band show case.

Palmetto Capital City Classic tickets are available at Ticketmaster outlets, Benedict College, South Carolina State University or by calling 803-783-2222. The Palmetto Capital City Classic's three days of celebratory events will include a Mayor's Gala with a featured performance from the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Company on September 5, 2002. On September 6, the Classic will host a golf tournament, a 4 p.m. pep rally at Finley Park and a dance for Benedict and SC State alumni. Events after the game on Saturday include a step show and the Classic Soul Jam Concert.
