Network Begins Historic Black College Sports Schedule August
30
Aggie Eagle Classic is the First of Nine “Classic” Games
to Air on MBC Beginning August 31

Atlanta, GA—Southern v. Mississippi
Valley, a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match-up,
will kick-off the historic black college
sports line-up to air on MBC Network August 30, at 8p.m. (EST).
Following the SWAC debut game, will be the Aggie Eagle Classic
airing on August 31, at 4p.m. (EST) a traditional gridiron
match-up between North Carolina A&T and North Carolina
Central a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and Central
Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) game.
Later on that day, airing
at 8 p.m. (EST) a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
(SIAC) game, Tuskegee v. Miles will also air.
In just two days, viewers and fans will be able to see games
from four conferences that have never been aired before on
cable
nor
broadcast television. Thus, MBC Network’s theme for this
sports season is We’re Not Just Playing Games, We’re
Making History!
Earlier this year, MBC Network along with the Commissioners
of SWAC, SIAC CIAA, and MEAC announced that the network was
the exclusive multi-year cable carrier for the four Conference's
football and basketball games.
This historical package has distinguished MBC as a trailblazer
in the cable and sports industries. The network has taken great
strides in developing its’ trademark as the preeminent
cable provider for Black College Sports. MBC is available in
over
3200 cities / 47 states.
For the 2003-2004 Black College Sports season not only is
MBC back with an unbeatable line-up of games but with an unbeatable
team of sports anchors. Returning this season on MBC is Charlie
Neal, “the voice of Black College Sports” along
with Howard Bison alum and former quarterback, Jay Walker.
Along the way Charlie and Jay will team up with Mark Walker,
Todd Bozeman, Joyce Jackson, Bernie Bickerstaff, Teresa Edwards,
Barry Milligan and Kim Davis. Fans will receive extensive game
coverage that includes sideline interviews and reports, along
with the sounds of the game showcasing the battle of the bands
and the soul-stepping cheerleaders.
This weekend all the exciting sports action can be seen in
Louisiana on Cox cable channel 229 (Baton Rouge) and channel
350 (New Orleans) and in Mississippi on Time Warner channel
61 & JSU campus channel 23 (Jackson). In North Carolina
watch the best of black college sports on Time Warner (TW)
cable system on channel 129 & WAUG channel 20 (Raleigh/Durham),
TW channel 131 (Wilmington), TW channel 130 (Greensboro) and
TW channel 130 (Winston-Salem). Alabama fans can catch watch
MBC Sports on Brighthouse Cable channel 131 (Birmingham); Mediacom
channel 99 (Huntsville) and Comcast channel 57 (Mobile).
