Atlanta, GA — The Major Broadcasting
Cable Network, has announced that Nolan Richardson, Jr. has
joined the MBC Sports team for the launch of their 2004 basketball
season. MBC Network
recently made black collegiate history when it signed a multi-year
agreement to serve as the exclusive cable partner for all four
of the Black College Sports conferences- Southwestern Athletic
Conference (SWAC), Mid-East Athletic Conference (MEAC), the
Southern-Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and the
Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (CIAA).
Richardson is currently the only collegiate basketball coach
in the United States to have won a championship at every level.
During his tenure as head men’s basketball coach for
the University of Arkansas Razorbacks from 1985 – 2002,
Richardson’s team took the honor of National Collegiate
Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship Runner-up for 1995.
Richardson is excited about positioning himself on the other
side of the microphone in his new move as a color analyst for
MBC. “I am so fired up about joining the MBC Sports team” said
Richardson. “I’m looking forward to starting my
new career in front of the TV cameras and now I get to judge
the calls and maybe even ask a question or two!”
Joining Richardson in his inaugural season is former National Basketball Development
League (NBDL) Assistant Coach, Stephanie A.J. Ready. Ready is the first woman
coach in men’s professional sports. Returning for another exciting season
of Black College Sports on MBC Network is legendary sportscaster, Charlie Neal.
