- Edward Waters
College has named Johnny Rembert as Director
of Athletics. Rembert played linebacker with the 1985 AFC champion New
England Patriots and expects to use his professional connections to help
raise money for the athletic program. Several former NFL players, including
San Francisto 49ers running back Dexter Carter and Detroit Lions wide
receiver Shawn Jefferson, accompanied Rembert at the news conference
announcing his appointment.
Rembert replaces Bob Alan who will remain at EWC and help with
fundraising in a new role as associate vice president in the Division of Institutional
advancement.

Virginia Union University has scheduled a press conference at 1 p.m. on Thursday,
February 5, to announce that Arrington Jones will be hired as the Panthers'
new head football coach.
The press conference will be held in the Lecture Hall of the L. Douglas Wilder
Library on the VUU campus.
