Cory M. Lima has joined the office staff of the Southwestern Athletic
Conference and will serve as the Director of Championships.
Lima, a native of Atlanta, Georgia was drafted
out of Redan High School by the Chicago Cubs.
He chose, instead, to attend college and played collegiately
as a pitcher at North Carolina A&T University
where, in 1997, he earned a B.S. Degree in Sports Administration.
After college Lima played in the Florida
Marlins organization and attended graduate
school at Clark Atlanta University during the off-season earning his M.B.A. in Marketing in 2001.
Cory retired from professional baseball
after five seasons and began his athletic
administrative career in 2001 at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) in Atlanta, Georgia (2001-2002),
serving as
Director of Compliance and Events Management. He also served
the SIAC, briefly, as interim commissioner.

Cory is a consummate professional who is very multi-talented,” says
SWAC Commissioner Robert Vowels. “He
will be a great addition to our staff and has
an understanding of the new game plan that is being implemented
here at the Southwestern Athletic Conference.”
