Terrence Woods tabbed for 3-point contest on ESPN

Terrence Woods has been named to the field of the 2004 National
Basketball Coaches’ Association Three-Point Shooting
Contest Thursday in San Antonio, Texas.

The shootout will be televised live nationally by ESPN beginning at 9 p.m.
Eastern Time from the University of Texas at San Antonio Arena.
Woods, a Memphis, Tennessee native, has been the top three-point shooter in
NCAA Division I for each of the past two seasons. Last year as a junior, the
mercurial guard hit 139 treys (4.96 per game), helping FAMU to its first winning
season (17-12) in 10 years.
This year, the 6-3 senior hit 140 treys and helped lead Florida A&M to
the 2004 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament title, an NACC Tournament
victory over Lehigh (Pa.) and a torrid duel against the top-seeded University
of Kentucky Wildcats in the St. Louis Regionals.
Careerwise, Woods finished with 353 three-pointers, putting him 11th all-time
among NCAA Division I three-point shooters, plus he stands fourth (140 in 2004)
and fifth (139 in 2003) all-time in single-season three-point shooting performances.
Woods will compete against a field consisting of Field Williams of the University
of Cincinnati; Matt Lotich of Stanford University; Luke Jackson of the University
of Oregon; Matt Frejie from Vanderbilt University; Brandon Mouton of the University
of Texas; Gerald Fitch of the University of Kentucky and Andre Barrett of Seton
Hall University.
