The shootout will be televised live nationally by ESPN beginning at 9 p.m. Eastern Time from the University of Texas at San Antonio Arena.

Woods, a Memphis, Tennessee native, has been the top three-point shooter in NCAA Division I for each of the past two seasons. Last year as a junior, the mercurial guard hit 139 treys (4.96 per game), helping FAMU to its first winning season (17-12) in 10 years.

This year, the 6-3 senior hit 140 treys and helped lead Florida A&M to the 2004 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament title, an NACC Tournament victory over Lehigh (Pa.) and a torrid duel against the top-seeded University of Kentucky Wildcats in the St. Louis Regionals.

Careerwise, Woods finished with 353 three-pointers, putting him 11th all-time among NCAA Division I three-point shooters, plus he stands fourth (140 in 2004) and fifth (139 in 2003) all-time in single-season three-point shooting performances.

Woods will compete against a field consisting of Field Williams of the University of Cincinnati; Matt Lotich of Stanford University; Luke Jackson of the University of Oregon; Matt Frejie from Vanderbilt University; Brandon Mouton of the University of Texas; Gerald Fitch of the University of Kentucky and Andre Barrett of Seton Hall University.
