- NC Central Football Schedule has
new look in 2004
- Although no official word has been released, it appears
that Fort Valley State Head Men's Basketball Coach Michael
Moore has been relieved of his coaching duties at the school.
He leaves after 11 seasons compiling a 130-174 career record. He
led FVSU to an SIAC Championship in 1998 and finished as runner-up
in 2000 and 2001. This season the Wildcats finished 13-14.
March 19, 2004
- Kentucky State has fired its head football
coach. The school released a statement saying "it is in the best interest
of the university to terminate the employment of Donald Smith,
head football coach."
Smith was let go following a university investigation which began February
17. He had just finished his third season at the school leading the Thorobreds
to a 7-4 record, their first winning season in six years.
March 2, 2004
- UDC basketball teams finish regular
season
- The North Carolina Central University Department
of Athletics has named MarQus Johnson interim head men's
basketball coach.
Johnson, a four-year assistant coach under Phil Spence and 2000
graduate of NCCU, will oversee the daily operations of the Eagle basketball program
while the search
for Spence's successor is conducted.
