- 2004 Division I Baseball
Championship:
First-round pairings have been announced for the NCAA Division I Baseball
Championships.
MEAC Champion Bethune-Cookman (27-26) will meet ACC Champ Florida State
(42-20) in Tallahassee on June 4. SWAC titelist Texas
Southern (18-33)
will travel to Houston to face WAC Champion Rice (43-12) in the first game
of the double-elimination tournament.
Winners in the eight regional tournaments
will advance to a super regional with the four super regional winners moving
on to the College World Series in Omaha, NE.

Titelist Mississippi Valley State have received automatic bids
to the NCAA Division I Softball playoffs. The Lady Wildcats (44-26) will
face Oregon (38-19) Thursday at 12:30pm in Tallahassee.
The Delta Devilettes (31-13) travel to Los Angeles to face defending champion
UCLA (39-9), Thursday afternoon at 4:30pm in the double-elimination regional
tournament.
