East Coast Bowl Game Features 21 from CIAA

November 28, 2003

The City of Petersburg and The National Football Foundation are sponsoring the Third Annual East Coast Bowl Game. The game will be played on Saturday, November 29, 2003, at 12:00 noon at Historic Cameron Field in Petersburg, VA.

The game is a Division II and III All-Star game that features the top seniors from across the Mid-Atlantic region. Players for this year's bowl were selected from the Mid-Atlantic Region to include South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and parts of New England from nominations of head coaches and based on individual talent. There are as many as 23 North Carolinians selected to participate in this bowl, with 21 coming from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).

Players reported Thursday and, along with practicing, visited local hospitals and elderly care facilities. All proceeds raised from this event go into a scholarship fund to be awarded to an area high school senior who wishes to play football on a Division II or III level.
