- Saint
Augustine’s, First HBCU to Host NCAA Division
II Cross Country Championships
- Prairie View A&M University’s first-year
head football coach, C. L. Whittington, has
been relieved of his coaching duties, effective immediately.
- Both Albany State and St. Augustine's lost
in opening round action at the NCAA Division II Volleyball Regionals.
ASU lost to the Central Missouri State University Jennies, 3-0,
in the South Central Regional Tournament. St. Aug fell to Indiana
(PA), 3-1, in the Atlantic Regional Tournament.

- Johnson C. Smith women's basketball
coach Vanessa Taylor picked up her 100th career
victory on November 18 as the Lady Golden Bulls defeated Morris
College, 79-62 in their season opener in Sumter, SC. Taylor,
a Tuskegee alum,
is in her third season as JCSU head coach and her tenth season
overall. Prior to taking the position in Charlotte, she was
head coach at Elizabeth City State.
