The 6-foot-5, 250 pound Hilton led the MEAC with 13 sacks and 31 tackles for loss during the 2002 playing season. Against Bowie State, he exploded for a school record six quarterback sacks on his way to 10 total tackles on the afternoon. He ended the season second on the team in tackles with 78, and for his efforts was named to The Sports Network All-America Second Team.

This season, the Charleston, SC native added to his résumé when he was listed as one of 16 early candidates for the Buck Buchanan Award, given annually to the top defensive player in Division I-AA. Through four games, Hilton sits atop the conference standings in tackles for loss with 13, while also recording three sacks.
