University (MVSU) department of athletics has
announced the addition of Danielle Douglas and
Roderick Mosley to the staff. Douglas will join MVSU
as assistant Women’s Track and Field coach while
Mosley will head the department of Sports Information.
“We’re happy to add two individuals like Danielle
Douglas and Roderick Mosley to our staff,” said Lonza
Hardy Jr., MVSU’s Director of Athletics. “Both
of
them impressed our search committees as we set out
to fill the two positions.”
Douglas, no stranger to “The Valley” was a four
times
letter winner for the Devilettees in Track and Field
from 2000-2004. An all around track athlete Douglas
competed in the 100, 200, long jump 4x400 relays and
other events. The Memphis, TN native is also alum of
MVSU as she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelors
of science in Criminal Justice in spring 2004.
“Coach Douglas showed as a student-athlete at
Mississippi Valley the she’s very knowledgeable of
track and field,” said Hardy. “Even as a participant,
she was a student of the sport who loved seeking
knowledge on improving her performances. I know that
she’ll pass those traits on now to our current
student-athletes.”
Mosley, in his ninth year at a Southwestern Athletic
Conference member school comes to the delta after most
recently serving Grambling State University as
assistant director of Athletic Media Relations. A
native of Baton Rouge, LA Mosley is a 1996 graduate of

he also twice served as interim director of Sports
Information.
“I’ve known Roderick for many years and I’ve
been able
to observe his works at both Grambling State and
Southern,” added Hardy. “Roderick is a tireless
worker who’ll do an outstanding job of publicizing
each of our 18 sponsored sports and he’ll have a great
rapport with both the media and the general public.”
The addition of Douglas and Mosley is the culmination
of the addition of four new positions to the athletics
staff at MVSU, the others being the recent hirings of
Kandi Krebbs (assistant softball coach) and Latasha
Thomas-Davis (assistant women’s basketball coach).
