Clark Atlanta selects Ted Bahhur as head football coach

Atlanta, GA - Clark Atlanta University has announced the selection of Ted Bahhur as the new head football coach of Panthers.

“Ted Bahhur is an excellent choice to lead the Clark Atlanta University Fighting Panthers football team," said Athletic Director Brenda Edmond in announcing the selection. "He is concerned about the well being of our student-athletes. Ted has assembled a mature, experienced and diverse staff of coaches to assist in the development of a successful program. They are focused on recruiting talented players, retaining and graduating them to become leaders in the community and in their chosen professions. His charismatic nature and interpersonal skills will afford him a positive working relationship with the administration, faculty, students, staff and alumni of the University.”

Prior to taking the position at CAU, Bahhur served for two years as an offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator for the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers. Before going to Tuskegee, he had a twelve-year coaching tenure including stops at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio (student assistant for 6 years), Baker University, Baldwin, Kansas (1 year), Clark Atlanta University (4 years) and Georgia State University, Atlanta (1 year).

He coached running backs during his stints at Baker and Clark Atlanta. While building a new football program in 2002 at Georgia State University, Bahhur served as head coach and amassed a 5-2 winning record.

Bahhur, who enjoys playing golf, is a member of the American Football Coaches Association and the ADC.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Kent State in 1992.

Bahhur and his wife Sandy have two children – Zaya and Tawfiq and now reside in Atlanta, Georgia.
