EIAC Announces Postseason Awards
March 5, 2005
Columbia, SC—The Eastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
(EIAC) announced its 2005 postseason awards at its
tournament kick-off banquet. Claflin University, the conference
men’s
and women’s
regular season champions, took home several of the conference
top honors. Claflin’s Calvin Witherspoon was named the
Men’s Player-of-the-Year, Claflin’s Jayshaun Bailey
the Women’s Freshmen-of-the-Year, and Coaches Ron Woodard
and Miriam Walker-Samuels the Men’s and Women Coach-of-the-Year,
respectively.
Edward Waters’ Latrika Allen was named the EIAC Women’s
Player-of-the-Year, while Barber-Scotia College freshman Troy
Pierson was named the Men’s Freshman-of-the-Year.
