Boyd
named permanent AD at Fayetteville State

Major Boyd has been named athletic
director at Fayetteville State University.
Boyd has been FSU’s interim athletic director
since July 2004.
A 1980 graduate of FSU with a
degree in elementary education, Boyd will oversee the coaches
and daily operations of the school's 12-sport athletic
department.
His years of athletic experience include playing,
coaching and academic counseling.
Boyd was CIAA long jump champion
in 1959, and was captain of the track and field and basketball
teams during his junior and senior years.
He is a member of
the FSU Athletic Hall of Fame and the CIAA Officials Hall
of Fame. Boyd was a CIAA basketball official for 30 years.
