Voorhees
captures EIAC Cross Country Titles

Santee, SC—Voorhees College Tigers, Denmark, SC won the
Eastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (EIAC) 2004 Men’s
and Women’s Cross Country Championships held at Santee
State Park, SC. The victory was the eighth consecutive men’s
championship for Voorhees. The Tigers had all seven of its
runners in the top ten. Christopher Clark from Claflin University,
who finished first with a time of 28:29, was named the EIAC
Men’s Outstanding Runner-of-the-Year.
The Lady Tigers ended Morris two-year reign as EIAC Champs.
Junior Allicia Golden and four freshmen (Kristi Foster, Colleen
Kitchens, Alexis Griffin and Kimberly Davis) led the Lady
Tigers first conference championship since Lady Tigers won
in 2000. Golden defended her individual title by finishing
first with the EIAC record-breaking time winning time of
20:33. Golden was named the Women’s Outstanding Runner-of-the-Year
for the third consecutive year.
Frank Hyland of Voorhees College was named the Men’s
and Women’s Coach-of-the-Year.
