Florida Classic tickets sales on record pace
October 19, 2004
ORLANDO – Fans hoping to attend the Silver Anniversary of the Walt Disney World
Florida Classic are being advised to purchase their tickets early as sales are
churning at a record pace, officials announced.
At the close of business on Friday, Oct. 15, Florida Citrus Sports (FCS) officials reported that 40,969 tickets have already been sold to the annual clash between Bethune-Cookman College and Florida A&M University. The total ticket sales mark an improvement over last year’s sales, when a record 73,358 fans attended the game at the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium.
“Even though the game is still more than a month away, we anticipate a sellout before kickoff,” FCS Executive Director Tom Mickle said. “Fans would be well advised to purchase their tickets as soon as possible to avoid being shutout.”
Considered by many to be the premiere black college football game in America, the match-up of the Rattlers and Wildcats culminates a week-long celebration including step shows, concerts and a battle of the bands. The game will be played Saturday, Nov. 20 at 4:00 p.m., in the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium.
Reserved individual tickets will be on sale at all Florida Ticketmaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.com . Tickets can be purchased over the phone through Ticketmaster at (407) 839-3900. Tickets will also be available at the TD Waterhouse Centre box office.
