- TheNewsStar.com has
reported that Grambling State University will
name Troy Mathieu as its new athletics director. Mathieu's
name will be submitted by GSU president Horace
Judson to the University of Louisiana System board.
Mathiew was selected over Alabama State AD Patrick
Carter and former Northeastern Illinois, Tennessee
State and Md-Eastern Shore AD Vivian
Fuller.

Playoffs
- North Carolina Central suffered
a double defeat and was eliminated from the
Mid-Atlantic Regional in Shippensburg, PA.
The Lady Eagles lost a rain-delayed matchup
with top-seeded Loch Haven, 8-4, Friday morning,
then were eliminated by California (Pa), 9-0,
Friday afternoon.
- Kentucky State was eliminated
by North Alabama, 8-0 in five innings in the
South Regional in Lakeland, FL

Division II Softball
- Kentucky
State dropped
a 9-0 decision to Florida Southern in
the South Regional in Lakeland, FL. The
Thorobrettes will face North Alabama in
an elimination game Friday at 1:30pm
- North Carolina Central's playoff
appearance in the Mid-Atlantic Regional in
Shippensburg, PA was postponed by rain.
The Lady Eagles will meet top-seeded Loch Haven
Friday morning at 10:00am.
