April 26, 2006

Fayetteville State University’s Department of Athletics has released its 2006 Football Schedule with the Broncos facing a challenging slate of opponents in their quest to return as “King of Hill” in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).

On August 26, at 6:00 p.m., the Broncos open the schedule, traveling to Wingate, NC to take on South Atlantic Conference (SAC) foe Wingate University at Belk Stadium. Wingate and FSU met in 1997 with the Bulldogs winning 48-12.

On September 2, the Broncos take the road again to play the Virginia Union University Panthers in a non-conference match up. The game will be played in Richmond, VA at Hovey Field. The Panthers lead the series 10-5-2.

The Broncos open their home schedule against another South Atlantic Conference (SAC) powerhouse Presbyterian College on Saturday September 9. Last year, the Blue Thunder gave the Broncos a 35-6 bolt.
