"The Dallas Cowbows gave me a chance
and I'm going to live it to the fullest," said
Hatcher in a interview on dallascowboys.com.
The 6-6, 283 pound native of Jena, LA becomes
the second HBCU product selected in this year's
draft. Alabama State's Tavaris Jackson was
picked by the Minnesota Vikings in Round 2.
Described as "a good athlete with quick
hands and feet" by GM
Junior Scouting,
Hatcher was listed as one of the top 10
HBCU prospects by diamondsintherough.net. He
was a key component on the GSU defensive line
this season finishing with 71
total tackles (49 solo) with 21.5 tackles for
loss and 11.0 sacks. He had one forced fumble,
16 QB hurries, a pass breakup and a blocked
kick.
He was named First Team All-SWAC, First Team
Sports Network I-AA All-American and SBN Black
College All-American last season.
"I
come to play every down and I'm going to give
the same thing to the Cowboys, even more than
I did in college," he said.
