B-CC names Bryan Harvey Director of Sports

Bethune-Cookman College has announced the appointment of Bryan
J. Harvey as its new Director of Sports Information. Harvey succeeds
Opio Mashariki who left for a similar position at Savannah State.
While at Bethune-Cookman, Harvey will be responsible for promoting
all 17 programs associated with Bethune-Cookman, as well as
assisting in several areas of operations such as promotions
and vendor licensing. His primary duties will also include
overseeing several student-assistants and two part-time assistants
within the office.
"Bryan's energy, knowledge of the Mid-Eastern Athletic
Conference (MEAC), integrity and strong family values along
with the skill to do the job make him a perfect fit," states
B-CC Athletics Director Lynn Thompson . "We're excited
to have him with us here at Bethune-Cookman."
Prior to arriving at Bethune-Cookman, Harvey spent the past
three years as the Assistant Sports Information Director at
Hampton University. His primary duties at HU were to serve
as the primary contact for all women's athletics, men's tennis
and coed sailing.
Harvey is a 2001 graduate of North Carolina Central University
where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English
with a concentration in Media Communications. While attending
NCCU, Harvey served as a sports information student-assistant
for four years under the direction of Kyle Serba.
