SWAC To Kickoff 2006 Football
Season With Youth Clinic and Media Day

The Southwestern Athletic Conference will
kick off the 2006 Football Season with a Youth
Clinic and Media Luncheon Thursday, July 27th
and Friday July 28th respectively.
The third annual SWAC Youth Football clinic
will take place on Thursday, July 27, 2006
at Birmingham’s Legion Field from 9:00a
to 12:00n and features SWAC football coaches
conducting a football clinic with Birmingham
area youth.
The SWAC Media Luncheon will be held on Friday,
July 28, 2006 at the Birmingham Downtown Sheraton
Hotel, beginning with media registration at
10:00a and luncheon from 11:00a – 1:00p.
During the luncheon there will be presentations
by all ten SWAC coaches, as well as the announcement
of 2006 Preseason All-SWAC Football team and
predicted order of finish. Following the luncheon,
SWAC coaches and two players will be available
for 1-on-1 interviews with the media from 1:00p – 3:00p.
Up-to-date news and information will be available
for the nationally televised (ESPN-TV) MEAC-SWAC
Football Challenge on Labor Day weekend between
the 2005 SBN Co-Champions Grambling State University
(SWAC) and Hampton University (MEAC). Both
schools were 2005 champions of their respective
conferences.
