Atlanta, GA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference has appointed Harry “Trae” Stinson III
as the conference Sports Information Director. Harry comes
to the SIAC from the Georgia Games Commission and Foundation
where he worked as the Operations Director handling logistics,
sponsorship attainment, media, community development and
operations for an annual 42-sport festival.
Mr. Stinson will oversee all conference communications, media
relations and publicity, and replaces Markesha McWilliams,
who accepted an Assistant Commissioner position with the Southwestern
Athletic Conference.
“It is my plan to increase the awareness of the SIAC,
its member institutions and their athletes on a national level
through the use of increased national and local media coverage
and through the relationships that I have developed over the
years. This increased coverage will not only highlight the
rich tradition of the SIAC and its member institutions but
will also serve as key contact to promote our athletes in their
quest for excellence on and off the playing field," said
Stinson .
Harry is a former track and field athlete at Florida State
University, where he received his Bachelors degree in Exercise
Science and a minor in Sport Administration. He recently received
his Master’s degree in Sport Administration from Georgia
State University, where he specialized in professional and
collegiate sport administration. He has previous work experience
with the World Boxing League as a League Administrator in Atlanta,
GA, and as a Sport Information Director at Georgia State University
for women’s track and field and men’s and women’s
tennis.
