Fayetteville State, Clark Atlanta and Tuskegee headed to Div II Women's Tennis Playoffs

INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee has selected the teams and 16 first- and second-round sites of the 2007 NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Championships.
The 16 first- and second-round tournaments will be conducted May 3-4 or 4-5, with the winner of each first- and second-round tournament advancing to the finals in Altamonte Springs, Florida, with the Central Florida Commission and Rollins College serving as co-hosts, May 9-12.
The championships consist of a 16-team single elimination tournament. Each of the following eight regions will conduct two first- and second-round tournaments: East, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, South, Great Lakes, Central, North Central and West. The selection of teams for the championships is based on prescribed criteria listed in the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Championships Handbook and approved by the NCAA Division II Championships Committee.
Nineteen conferences receive automatic qualification into the 2007 women's championships. Each conference and its automatic qualifier is listed below:
Carolinas-Virginia – Erskine
CACC – Holy Family
CIAA – Fayetteville State
ECC- Queens (New York)
Great Lakes Valley –Drury
Gulf South – West Florida
Heartland – St. Edward’s
Lone Star – Northeastern State
MIAA – Emporia State
North Central – Nebraska-Omaha
Northeast-10 – Bryant
Northern Sun- Winona State
Peach Belt – Armstrong Atlantic State
PSAC – California Pennsylvania
RMAC – Mesa State
South Atlantic – Presbyterian
SIAC – Clark Atlanta
Sunshine State – Lynn
West Virginia Intercollegiate – West Liberty State
Despite its fourth place finish in the SIAC Spring Championships, Tuskegee received an at-large bid as a result of its #8 ranking in the South Region.
