NCAA & CSTV to air more SIAC games on broadband
August 24, 2006
Tucker, GA – The NCAA Division II recently partnered
with CSTV on a three-year regular-season television and broadband
package agreement that will showcase select Division II football
and men’s and women’s basketball games live, beginning
with coverage this fall. Starting this fall CSTV will air 3
football games live and 40 games (4 per week) via a live internet
broadcast on www.cstv.com.
As a part of that package the NCAA and CSTV have agreed to
showcase three additional SIAC games worldwide. These games
will be aired live on www.cstv.com throughout the upcoming
season. Previously, the committee had chosen the Fort Valley
State University versus Valdosta State University game slated
for live internet broadcast on September 9. The added internet
broadband coverage brings the SIAC television and internet
broadband coverage to six games nationally televised (3 on
ESPNU and 3 on CSTV) and four via internet broadband.
Dr. William E. Lide, SIAC Commissioner stated “This
is a historic time in regards to the SIAC receiving so much
exposure both nationally and internationally. This is a true
testament to the conference growth and development in football,
basketball and other sports.”
The three game additional broadcasts on the world wide web
are Benedict vs. Tuskegee; Saturday, September 16, 2006, Albany
State vs. Tuskegee; Saturday, October 21, 2006 and Fort Valley
State vs. Kentucky State; Saturday, November 11, 2006.
