last year's tournament, which got us off to
a fast start in our new home in Raleigh," said
Dr. Dennis Thomas, MEAC Commissioner. "We
want to keep that strong value proposition,
with affordably priced tickets, great basketball
and a strong roster of other great events throughout
the week."
Last year's event, the first in Raleigh, was
a success, with attendance growing 50% over
the prior year's tournament. More than 22,500
people attended the tournament games, with
additional attendance at related events such
as the Tom Joyner Sky Show, High School Day,
Comedy Show, Fashion Show and much more.
