Tennessee State Cagers to host ESPN’s
Bracketbuster Game

Tennessee State University men’s basketball
team will be one of six Ohio Valley Conference
teams to serve as home team in the ESPN Bracketbusters
series, set for Friday-Saturday, February 16-17,
2007.
Last year, the Tigers playing as a visiting
team, edged Ball State (70-69) in the Bracketbuster
series. As part of the Bracketbuster series
agreement, home teams will play a return game
at the home facility of their BracketBuster
series opponent in November or December of
the following season. Tennessee State will
host Ball State at Gentry Center on December
22, 2006.
A record 102 men’s basketball teams
will compete in the 51-game, two-day event.
The pool of teams will feature 12 teams from
the Mid-American Conference and Colonial Athletic
Association; 10 from the Missouri Valley and
Metro Atlantic Athletic Conferences; nine from
the Western Athletic Conference and Horizon
League; eight from the Big West Conference;
four from the Big Sky and Southern Conferences;
three from the Big South Conference and Patriot
League; two from the America East, Mid-Continent
and Southland Conferences; and one from the
West Coast Conference.
Thirteen of the 51 contests will be televised
nationally, including six games on ESPN2. An
additional five games will be aired on ESPNU,
ESPN’s 24-hour collegiate sports network,
and two on ESPN360, ESPN’s customized
broadband service.
The match-ups for the 13 televised games will
be announced on Monday, January 29, 2007, while
pairing decisions for the remaining games will
be announced by Wednesday, January 31
