Broadcast team of HBCU alums gets another assignment

ATLANTA, GA – The broadcast team of Charles Ward and Mark Lassiter has been selected to provide the live, on-air coverage of the 4A and 5A Georgia High School Football Championships on Georgia Public Television (GPB). The 4A Championship will air at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 17th and the 5A Championship will air at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 18th. Live coverage of the games can also be seen via the internet at www.gpb.org. Each year over 1.5 million viewers across the State of Georgia watch the high school semi-finals and championships on GPB.

During the 2006 Black College Football season Ward and Lassiter provided the television coverage for The Southern Heritage Classic (FNS); The Atlanta Football Classic (Turner South); The Capital City Classic (Comcast); and the web cast coverage of the Pioneer Bowl (Penn Atlantic).
The team has shared the television and radio booth since 1991. Ward is a graduate of FAMU and the Howard University School of Law while Lassiter earned his BFA from Howard.
