BCSIDA elects officers for next two years

The Black College Sports Information Directors Association (BCSIDA) has elected
officers for the next two years. Elections were held during the organization's
annual meeting in conjunction with the College Sports Information Directors
of America (CoSIDA) Annual Workshop in Nashville, TN.
Wallace Dooley, Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations for the Southwestern
Athletic Conference was elected president. Dooley suceeds William "Bill" Hamilton
who had served as president since 2002.
Belmont University Director of Athletic Media Relations for Women's Sports
Kenisha Rhone was elected vice president.
April Emory, Sports Information Director at Elizabeth City State University
was named Secretary-Treasurer.
Conference and independent representatives named to the BCSIDA executive board
were Shera White - Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Harry Stinson
- Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Michelle Jinks - Mid Eastern
Athletic Conference, Wil Bright - Southwestern Athletic Conference and Rob
Knox of Lincoln (PA) - Independents.
The organization voted to hire Eric Moore, Managing Partner of The Onnidan
Group, as its Executive Director.
BCSIDA was founded in 1984 for the purpose of preserving and promoting intercollegiate
athletics at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and the interests
of African Americans in the athletic media relations field. The organization
meets annually in conjunction with the CoSIDA workshop and has been instrumental
in fostering relationships with others interested in furthering their professional
standing.
