The NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Females is designed to address the critical shortage of senior-level women of color in athletics administration at NCAA member institutions and conference offices. The institute prepares diverse leaders through a 12-month leadership training and skills development experience enhancing their job-related competencies in selected areas through completion of four professional development sessions, practical work and a week-long intensive workshop.

The Institute for Ethnic Minority Females is led by a diverse group of recognized leaders in business, higher education and intercollegiate athletics. Attendees were selected from a list of applicants that were nominated by a staff member from the NCAA institution or conference office where they are currently employed.

I am enjoying this opportunity engage with other professionals in our industry who are striving for similar goals as mine,” said Sykes. “I look forward to learning more about myself and developing my skills as a leader, administrator, mentor and educator.”
