NC A&T releases 2008 Football Schedule
February 13, 2008
GREENSBORO, – Aggie Stadium has been good to the North Carolina A&T football team since it opened in 1981. The Aggie football team hopes adding a few more games there will assist in the Aggies in the rebuilding of the program.
North Carolina A&T head coach Lee Fobbs announced the release of the Aggies 2008 football schedule on Wednesday. The schedule includes seven home games. It’s the most home games the Aggies have had on their schedule since the facility opened in 1981 with seven home games. The Aggies will also play an extra game this season, going from 11 games to 12.
“Any time you can play that many times in front of your supporters, you have a great schedule,’’ said Fobbs. “I’m excited about our schedule. It’s a good schedule, and we can’t wait to get started.”
The Aggies are 72-57-1 all-time at Aggie Stadium. They have had seven undefeated seasons since the stadium opened with the last undefeated season coming in 2003. The Aggies open the season with Johnson C. Smith University on August 30. It will be the 44th meeting between the two schools, but the first meeting since 1993.
The Aggies will host rival Winston-Salem State the next week. Coastal Carolina will come to Aggie Stadium for the first time ever on Sept. 27 followed two weeks later by The Greatest Homecoming on Earth. The Aggies face Morgan State on Oct. 11 for North Carolina A&T’s 2008 Homecoming.
The Aggies will play three more home games after homecoming, including Howard on Oct. 25; Florida A&M on Nov. 8; and S.C. State on Nov. 22. The Bulldogs and the Aggies will play at Aggie Stadium for the first time since 1994. The Aggies road games include Norfolk State on Sept. 13; Hampton on Sept. 20; N.C. Central on Oct. 4; Delaware State on Oct. 18 and Bethune-Cookman on Nov. 1.
