Delta Devils Release 2008 Football Schedule

Itta Bena, Miss. --- The Mississippi Valley State department of athletics has released the 2008 Delta Devils’ football schedule. Although the schedule will feature mostly familiar faces, it will be different in that after three trips to the Chicago Football Classic, the Delta Devils will not play in a classic this season.
 However, Delta Devils fans will be delighted to know that Mississippi Valley will play host to six games on the Itta Bena campus.
Valley will open their season August 30th hosting Texas College (5 p.m.). Following an open week the Delta Devils will travel to Baton Rouge, LA to face Southern University (Sept. 13th, 5 p.m.) before returning home to host Prairie View A&M (Sept. 20th , 5 p.m.).
Valley will round out the month of September traveling to Montgomery, Ala. to face the Alabama State Hornets (Sept. 27th, 5p.m.).
The Delta Devils October schedule will feature two home games, Alcorn State (Oct. 11th, 1 p.m.) and Savannah State (Oct., 18th, 1p.m.), before finishing on the road at in-state rival Jackson State (Oct. 25th, 4 p.m.).
As the season winds down, the month of November will offer a full slate each weekend as Valley hosts Grambling State (Nov. 1, 1p.m.), travels to Houston, Tex. to face the Tigers of Texas Southern University (Nov. 8th, 1p.m.), remain on the road at Pine-Bluff, Ark. (Nov. 15th, 4 p.m.) to take on the Golden Lions of Arkansas-Pine Bluff before finishing up at home with Alabama A&M (Nov. 22, 1 p.m.)
