Alcorn’s Hamilton leaves for Livingstone

Alcorn State, MS--- Dr. Darren J. Hamilton will be stepping down as Alcorn State University's athletic director to take the same position at Livingstone College in North Carolina.

Hamilton will remain on staff at Alcorn State through June 30th, before ending his tenure with the Braves.
Among the lasting impressions Dr. Hamilton will leave at Alcorn State, will be the coaches he hired; Coach Tonya Edwards and Coach Larry Smith—women’s and men’s basketball head coaches respectively.
Hamilton said the opening at Livingstone College was too good to pass up because of the school’s tradition and the tradition of the CIAA basketball tournament. “This is a tremendous opportunity for me and to do it at a highly academic institution closer to home. However, I will miss Alcorn State University.”
