Hampton University establishes Athletics Hall of Fame

HAMPTON, Va. – Hampton University has established an Athletics Hall of Fame to honor student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty and other supporters who have contributed substantially to the evolution of HU athletics as one of the nation’s premier and most distinctive intercollegiate sports programs.
The inaugural induction class, which will include up to 15 outstanding individuals from Hampton’s illustrious past, will be enshrined on Friday, November 20 at the Student Center Ballroom on the HU campus. The inductees will also be recognized at the football game against Morgan State University on Saturday, November 21 at Armstrong Stadium.
The HU Hall of Fame’s Nominating Committee is currently accepting nominations from the general public through August 31. A list of the eligibility requirements and the nomination categories are posted on the athletics program’s web page at www.hamptonpirates.com. Nomination packets can also be obtained by contacting the HU Department of Athletics at (757) 727-5641.
