Livingstone College announces Change in Football Leadership

SALISBURY, NC – Livingstone College has accepted the request of Coach Lamonte Massie, Head Football Coach, to be reassigned to other duties for the remainder of this year.
In a meeting Monday, Coach Massie made the decision not to coach football team for the remainder of the season. Massie will continue to work at Livingstone College in a capacity in which he can continue his contributions to the operation and mission of the Holistic College.

“Coach Massie possesses the qualities that fit with the Holistic College concept and that is why his services are of value to Livingstone College,” said Dr. Jimmy R. Jenkins, Sr., President of Livingstone College.
Coach Eric Brown, the Assistant Head Football Coach, will serve as Interim Head Coach for the remainder of the season. A national search will be conducted at the conclusion for the 2009 football season. At that time Coach Brown will be eligible to apply for the Head Coaching vacancy if he is interested.
Livingstone College accepted the request of Coach Massie so that the football team can continue its quest to reaching its potential. Livingstone College plays host to Lincoln University on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Salisbury, North Carolina.
