Texas Southern Dismisses Head Basketball Coach

Houston-TX-Texas Southern University officials announced today that Robert Moreland has been relieved of his duties as Head Men's Basketball.

Moreland amassed 399 victories over 26 seasons at TSU, including three NCAA Tournament Appearances in 1990, 1994 and 1995. His 399 wins are the most ever for a TSU basketball coach. Moreland had 352 losses at TSU.This season, the Tigers finished 7-22, good for eighth place in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

Moreland's career record is 672-431.

"The University Family wishes Coach Moreland well," Athletics Director, Alois Blackwell said. "He will always be apart of the university family and we thank him for his 26 years of service."
