WSSU's Debra Clark resigns to take position at Florida A&M

Debra Clark, head women's basketball coach at Winston-Salem State has resigned to take a similar position at Florida A&M. Her resignation is effective immediately.

"This is a great opportunity for Coach Clark and her family - a step to the next level," said Director of Athletics Anne Little. "The University family wishes her the best."

Clark leaves WSSU after a seven year stint and a career record of 116-82. The Lady Rams finished 20-9 this season and advanced to the CIAA Tournament semifinals.

Clark was named CIAA Coach of the Year during the 1995-96 campaign and was currently serving as President of the CIAA Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

Prior to coming to Winston-Salem State, Clark was an assistant coach at Norfolk State University.
