Hampton, VA - The 1999-2000 Hampton University men's basketball schedule will feature a home date with an Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) team for the second consecutive year. Including the clash with the University of Virginia on Friday, December 10th at 6:00 pm, the Pirates will have 12 home dates. Non - conference home dates also include a season opener against Eastern Michigan on November 22nd and Radford University on January 7th.
"We are very happy with our schedule this year. We have been able to schedule non-conference games with teams from the ACC and Conference USA, not only on the road, but also at home," said Merfeld.
In other non-conference action, the Pirates will travel to William & Mary on December 4th, Conference USA's Marquette on December 20th, Chicago State on December 22nd and Duquesne on February 10th. The Pirates will also face the College of Charleston on December 28th, in the first round of their holiday tournament. Tennessee Tech and Charleston Southern are also in the tournament.
"We have a tough non-conference schedule that will definitely prepare us for the challenging MEAC race," said Merfeld.
