Hampton's Men & BCC Women Reach MEAC Tennis Finals Rain Delays Other Semi-Final Matches

Hampton, VA - The Hampton University men have reached the MEAC Tennis Championship match for the fifth consecutive year, while Bethune Cookman's women made it their second consecutive trip to the finals. The Hampton Pirates defeated the Wildcats of Bethune Cookman 4-2 and the BCC Lady Wildcats won over the Lady Pirates 5-2.
In the second semi-final matches, the Florida A&M men had won the doubles point and took a 1-0 lead over S.C. State going into singles play, while the Florida A&M women were in singles play against Norfolk State before rain cut their matches short. The men continued their match at the Centre Court Indoor facility in Newport News, VA and the women will continue Saturday morning.
Bethune Cookman's women and men entered the MEAC tournament ranked 65th and 75th respectively, and Florida A&M also entered the tournament ranked 57th in the latest ITA national rankings.
