Edward Waters College to Honor Negro League Legends

Jacksonville, FL - Edward Waters College will honor members ofthe Negro League during African-American Legacy Day on April 1, 2000. The ceremonies will feature five of  Jacksonville's own former Leaguemembers plus members from around the State of Florida.

Special guest for the occasion will be Buck O'Neil, founder of the NegroLeague Musiem, Kansas City Monarchs and the first black coach for the ChicagoCubs.

The ceremonies are set for J.P. Small Park (next to Durkeeville Oaks)in Jacksonville.  Following a presentation and reception, the EWCFighting Tigers will take on the Morris College Hornets in a regular scheduledbaseball game.
