The Florida A&M women's basketball team conflict was resolved today a after an extensive 4 1/2 hour talk between head coach Claudette Farmer, team members and athletic administrators.
"There was a lot of give and take on both sides," said athletic director Ken Riley. "We talked through the issues and each side has a better understanding of the other. We are happy to have a positive resolution."
The resolution involves more concern from the coaching staff in regards to the total well being of the student not just the athlete; the retaining of a counselor for the team's benefit; and better conduct [on both sides] in practice.
In an effort to monitor and ensure success for this resolution, an athletic administrator will travel with the team on a number of road trips.
Claudette Farmer will continue to guide the Rattlerette Basketball program.
The team will break for the winter holidays and return on December 27 to prepare or the Rice game (Dec. 30 at 7pm).
