| DC United Signs Howard University Soccer PlayerJuly 14, 2000Major League Soccer's D.C. United has signed former Howard University soccer player Raymond Goodlett to the club's A-League affiliate Hershey Wildcats. Goodlett started 66 games in his four years at Howard while accounting for 23 points. An outstanding defensive player, Goodlett was selected first-team All Mid Continent Conference during the 1996 season. A native of Olney, MD, Goodlett was twice named to the M-CC All-Academic team and graduated suma cum laude from Howard in 1998 with a degree in chemistry. He is a Phi Beta Kappa. Goodlett, 23, was originally signed by Hershey on April 12, 1999, he made 17 appearances with the Wildcats last season, and was a regular starter at the end of the season. "It has always been a dream of mine to play in the MLS," says Goodlett. "And I am especially proud to be representing Howard University."
