WNCU TO BROADCAST NCCU FOOTBALL GAMES

DURHAM, NC -- North Carolina Central University Athletics and WNCU 90.7 FMhave agreed to a partnership to broadcast Eagle football games in 1999.The broadcast and promotional package, valued at more than $32,000, features10 regular season football games, weekly promotional announcements, on-airticket giveaways, and interviews on the Friday evening sports show entitled, "Halftime."

"This is an effort to further market the NCCU athletics program, utilizing ouranchor sport of football," said Dr. William Lide, NCCU Athletics Director."WNCU has widened its listening audience to a more diverse population.Therefore, not only will our traditional fans have the opportunity to listento our games, but new fans throughout WNCU's extensive broadcast area."

WNCU, a listener-supported public radio station licensed to NCCU, broadcaststo 800,000 residents in a 13 county coverage area; extending north toDanville, VA, west to Greensboro, south to Sanford, and east to Franklin County."This is an opportunity for us to jointly promote a very important universityresource - our athletic department," said WNCU General Manager Donald Baker.

Along with the radio signal on 90.7 FM, WNCU is also available to 94,000households via Durham Cablevision (channel 8), and to listeners worldwidethrough a live audio feed from the radio station's web site (www.wncu.com),according to Baker.
