SWAC Football Media Day set for July 28

The Southwestern Athletic Conference will host its annual football Media Day Friday, July 28 in Birmingham. The preseason gala is being billed as "The Road to the SWAC Championship".

Head football coaches from the ten SWAC-member universities will be on hand for interviews and photo sessions. In addition, top returning players from each school will be in attendance along with sports information directors from each institution.

Activities begin Thursday night, July 27 when Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University and Powertel host an open house reception at the new SWAC headquarters in the A.G. Gaston Building.

Friday, the press conference begins at 10 a.m. at the Harbert Center.

The SWAC has invited the Birmingham Business Community and all football fans to a Media Luncheon at noon. The keynote address will be given by Eddie Robinson, former football coach for Grambling State University and the winningest coach in college football history.

Following the luncheon, players and coaches will be available for one-on-one interviews and photo opportunities at the SWAC Headquarters Media Room.
