_ BCSP No. 2 Delaware State 24, No. 1 Hampton 17

Delaware State QB Vashon Winton (10-16-1, 131 yds., 13 car., 59 yds.) rushed for two TDs (1, 11) and tossed the game-winning five-yard TD pass to TE Jeff Postell with 11:39 remaining to give the Hornets (3-1, 2-0 MEAC) a win over three-time conference champ Hampton (3-1, 3-1) and the lead in the MEAC. The big play in the game-winning, four-play, 60-yard drive was a 50-yard completion from Winton to WR Shaeer McBride (2 rec, 57 yds.). DSU RB Kareem Jones carried the ball 26 times for 135 yards while the Hornet defense recorded five sacks and held the Pirates to 100 rushing yards on 35 carries.

_ No. 2 Grambling State 17, Prairie View A&M 14

BCSP No. 2 Grambling State (3-1, 3-0 SWAC W) got a 19-yard game-winning field goal from Tim Manuel with 1:19 to play to knock off Prairie View before 55,878 fans at the State Fair Classic at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Manuel's kick capped a 16-play, 76-yard game-winning drive for the G-Men that consumed nearly nine minutes (8:43). GSU RBs Cornelius Walker (10 car., 109 yds.) and Frank Warren (9 car., 82 yds.) pounded out yardage in the drive. Trailing 14-0, Prairie View (2-2, 1-2 SWAC W) had tied the score on two fourth-quarter TDs , a 38-yard pass from QB Mark Spivey to Shaun Stephens and a 24-yard interception return.

_ No. 4 Southern 21, Alabama State 2

Southern (5-0, 3-0 SWAC W) stayed unbeaten and held Alabama State (3-1, 4-1 SWAC E) to only a third-quarter safety to knock the Hornets from the unbeaten ranks. Southern held freshman QB Chris Mitchell to two completions in 19 attempts and picked him off twice, the first leading to the Jags' first score, a 21-yard run by Brian Threat. SU QB Bryant Lee (16-29, 242 yds.) threw three interceptions but scored on a one-yard run and hit Gerard Landry with a 23-yard TD strike to close out the scoring.

_ No. 6 Tuskegee 42, Concordia 9

Tuskegee (4-0, 3-0 SIAC) scored 14 points in each of the first three quarters in notching an easy win over Concordia (1-5). TU QB Jacary Atkinson (14-23-0) threw for 197 yards and three TDs (7, 32, 34) and ran in from 38 yards out.

_ No. 8 Virginia Union 30, St. Augustine's 14

Virginia Union QB Lamar Little (15-26-1, 220 yds.) threw for two scores (18, 22) and ran for one (8) as the Panthers (5-0, 1-0 CIAA E) stayed undefeated.

_ Norfolk State 50, NC A&T 20

Norfolk State (3-1, 2-0 MEAC) flexed its new found muscle getting four TD passes from QB Casey Hansen to send A&T (0-5, 0-2) to its 21st straight defeat and move to 2-0 in the MEAC for the first time in the Spartans history in the conference. Hansen hit freshman Jeremy Wicker with 19 and 69-yard scoring passes in the first half and finished the day 19 of 27 for 351 yards.
